Step into a real Yukon winter night in the mountains.

We have partnered with Mount Sima to bring you up the mountain by snowmobile / ATV to their cozy heated hut. The ride itself is already an adventure, winding through snowy forest and up open slopes with the lights of Whitehorse below.

Inside the hut, the fire crackles, the stove glows, and fondue is on the table. Warm cheese and wild meats like bison and elk, hot drinks, stories, and board games set the tone for a relaxed and fun evening in true Yukon style.

Outside, the suspense builds. We step out of the hut, walk through the snow, and keep our eyes on the sky. From this mountain perch you get huge views over Whitehorse, surrounding peaks, and endless Yukon wilderness. When the aurora shows up, it is all about being out there, and watching the sky come alive.

This is a full winter night out: snowmobile ride, mountain hut, fondue by the fire, big views, and the chance to see the northern lights.

This experience is for adventurous souls who want their aurora with a touch of wilderness. Small intimate groups, a cozy mountain hut, and a powerful Yukon winter experience that feels personal and real.

Itinerary

9:00 PM

Pick up from your hotel or a designated location in downtown Whitehorse. From there we leave the city behind and make our way toward Mount Sima.

9:30 PM

Arrival and check in with your guides. You will sign waivers, have a safety briefing, and get an overview of the evening before heading up the mountain.

10:00 PM – 3:00 AM

We will bring you up the mountain by snowmobile to the cozy heated hut. Inside, the fire is crackling and fondue is ready. This will be your base for the night. You can relax inside, enjoy warm drinks and fondue, step outside into the snow, and watch for the northern lights with stunning views over Whitehorse and the surrounding wilderness.

3:00 AM

Begin the journey back down the mountain.

4:00 AM

Drop off in Whitehorse at your preferred location.

What to bring with you?

To ensure you're comfortable during your Northern Lights adventure, please bring warm layers, including:

  • A windproof or waterproof jacket
  • Snow pants
  • A hat, gloves, and scarf
  • Non-cotton layers made of wool, fleece, or down
  • Thermal socks
  • Comfortable, insulated boots

These items will help keep you warm and dry in the wilderness, ensuring you can fully enjoy the experience.

Age requirements

The minimum age to book with YuSquatch Mt. Adventures is 18 years old unless accompanied with a legal guardian on the tour.

Cancellation policy

  • Cancellation up to 30 days before departure: 100% refund
  • 29 to 15 days before departure: 50% refund
  • 14 to 7 days before departure: 25% refund
  • 6 days or less before departure: 0% refund

Please Note: We do not offer refunds due to bad weather conditions or the absence of the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis), as these are natural phenomena beyond our control.

In the case of extreme weather or unforeseen circumstances on our end, we will work with you to reschedule or offer a full refund.
