Spend the evening high above Whitehorse on Mount Sima, accessed by ATV into a private alpine setting.

Your night begins with pickup in Whitehorse before heading to Mount Sima. From there, you’ll ride by ATV up the mountain to reach a heated hut overlooking the surrounding wilderness. The journey itself is part of the experience — climbing into the alpine under the night sky.

Inside the hut, the wood stove is burning and warm fondue is served with hot beverages. This becomes your base for the evening — a place to warm up, relax, and step outside whenever the sky begins to shift.

From this elevated location, you’ll watch for the northern lights above the valley and surrounding mountains. Being higher up offers wide, open views and a quieter setting.

We keep our groups small and intimate. This allows for a more personal atmosphere, space inside the hut, and flexibility throughout the evening.

This experience is for adventurous souls who want their aurora with a touch of wilderness. Small intimate groups, a cozy mountain hut, and a powerful Yukon winter experience that feels personal and real.

Please note: Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings cannot be guaranteed. Their appearance depends on weather, timing, and solar activity.

Itinerary

9:00 PM

Pick up from your hotel or a designated location in downtown Whitehorse. From there we leave the city behind and make our way toward Mount Sima.

9:30 PM

Arrival and check in with your guides. You will sign waivers, have a safety briefing, and get an overview of the evening before heading up the mountain.

10:00 PM – 3:00 AM

We will bring you up the mountain by snowmobile to the cozy heated hut. Inside, the fire is crackling and fondue is ready. This will be your base for the night. You can relax inside, enjoy warm drinks and fondue, step outside into the snow, and watch for the northern lights with stunning views over Whitehorse and the surrounding wilderness.

3:00 AM

Begin the journey back down the mountain.

4:00 AM

Drop off in Whitehorse at your preferred location.

What to bring with you?

  • Thermal socks
  • Comfortable, insulated boots

Can I join as a solo traveler?

Absolutely. This experience runs with a minimum of 2 participants. If you book solo, we will do our best to match you with other guests. If we cannot confirm a second guest, you can switch dates or receive a full refund.

Age requirements

The minimum age to book with YuSquatch Mt. Adventures is 18 years old unless accompanied with a legal guardian on the tour.

Cancellation policy

  • Cancellation up to 30 days before departure: 100% refund
  • 29 to 15 days before departure: 50% refund
  • 14 to 7 days before departure: 25% refund
  • 6 days or less before departure: 0% refund

Please Note: We do not offer refunds due to bad weather conditions or the absence of the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis), as these are natural phenomena beyond our control.

In the case of extreme weather or unforeseen circumstances on our end, we will work with you to reschedule or offer a full refund.
