Experience a one-of-a-kind Yukon adventure in a converted classic American school bus — your rugged basecamp on wheels.
Ready to dive headfirst into the wild beauty of the Yukon? Join us on a raw and unforgettable 5-day road trip through Kluane National Park — one of Canada’s most remote and untamed regions. We’ll explore off-grid trails, alpine lakes, and vast mountain valleys.
This isn’t a cushy van trip or a luxury escape. It’s back-to-basics — but better. Think sleeping on real beds inside a converted bus, tucked into wild camping spots under open skies. No crowds. Just you, the land, and the road beneath your boots.
With day hikes up to 25 km and elevation gains of 1500 m, you'll push your limits and earn every view — from ridgelines to glacial valleys and high alpine lookouts. Between climbs, breathe in the silence of the North, cool off in icy lakes, and gather around a crackling fire under the midnight sun.
The Squatch Bus is your shelter and supply hub — a step up from tent camping, but still raw and real. No fluff. Just everything you need to thrive out here: a wood stove, real meals, and a roof over your head.
Craving a wilder kind of road trip? Let’s hit the road, Yukon-style!

Fitness level - what to expect?
Fitness level - what to expect?
This trip is designed for active adventurers who love the outdoors and aren’t afraid to break a sweat. You don’t need to be an elite athlete, but you should feel comfortable spending full days outside, hiking on uneven terrain, and gaining elevation.
We’ll tackle daily hikes ranging from 8 to 25 km, with up to 1,500 meters of elevation gain. Trails will take us through rugged landscapes, with some steep sections, rocky footing, and even a bit of light scrambling. You’ll also get a taste of vertical movement with an intro to rock climbing session—no experience needed, just a willingness to try something new.
If you’ve got a sense of adventure, an appreciation for big views and wild places, and the energy to embrace full days in nature (and maybe get a little dirty along the way), you’ll feel right at home.

Day 1: The Adventure Begins!
Day 1: The Adventure Begins!
We’ll pick you up at 8:30 AM in Whitehorse, where you’ll have a chance to grab any last-minute supplies before we hit the road. Once we're stocked up, we’ll make our way to Haines Junction, stopping at the visitor center for a quick info session about the area. After that, we’ll continue on to Kluane Lake, where we’ll set up camp right by the water. You can enjoy slacklining, try some packrafting, or just kick back and relax in this beautiful spot. In the evening, we’ll gather for dinner and talk about the exciting hikes and adventures coming up!
Day 2 to 4: Immersed in Nature’s Beauty
Day 2 to 4: Immersed in Nature’s Beauty
Each day begins with a satisfying breakfast to fuel up, followed by packing up camp as we head toward the trailhead. Over the next three days, we’ll immerse ourselves in the heart of the wilderness, choosing our hikes as a group each evening based on our energy, fitness levels, and the weather forecast. Your guide will ensure that the hikes are tailored to match the group’s pace and mood, balancing challenge with safety, so everyone feels empowered and engaged.
Some of the stunning hikes we may choose together include:
- King’s Throne
- Bullion Plateau
- Mount Decoeli
- Sheep Mountain
Each evening, as a group, we’ll discuss which hike feels best based on our collective energy levels and weather conditions. Whether it’s tackling a tough peak like Mount Decoeli or a more gradual ascent up Bullion Plateau with views over the valley where the Kaskawulsh glacier ends, the goal is to create a journey that suits everyone’s pace, while still offering stunning views and a sense of accomplishment.
By the end of Day 4, you’ll have explored some of the most iconic landscapes in the region, strengthening both body and mind with every step, and forming unforgettable memories with your fellow adventurers.
Day 5: Wrapping Up the Adventure with Relaxation
Day 5: Wrapping Up the Adventure with Relaxation
On our final morning, we’ll take our time to enjoy the last moments of this incredible adventure. After packing up camp, we’ll gather by the serene lake for a peaceful sunrise. You can sip your coffee, take in the stillness, and perhaps even take a refreshing swim in the cool waters, soaking in one last beautiful moment in nature.
Once we’ve packed up and said our goodbyes to the wilderness, we’ll begin our journey back to Whitehorse. On the way, we’ll stop at Takhini Hot Springs to relax and rejuvenate after several days of hiking. The warm, soothing waters will be the perfect way to ease tired muscles and reflect on the incredible experiences we’ve shared.
We’ll arrive in Whitehorse by late afternoon. When we get there, just let us know where you'd like to be dropped off, and we’ll make sure to get you to your destination safely.
